Harmony Science Academy is Pre-K-11th grade. During National Charter Schools Week they will display banners with the theme Charter Schools: Growing Excellence, as well as announce this National week on the school website. During morning announcements they will challenge students to tell their friends and family their favorite parts of being a part of Harmony Science Academy, Charter School. During Language Arts classes, students will write essays regarding what it means to them to attend a Charter School. And they will celebrate the diversity of their campus, by hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Monday, May 5th after school for all students, parents, and teachers.

Three Choirs Celebrate National Charter Schools Week
Fort Worth, TX
- The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts will present John Rutter’s Mass of the Children as a special gift to the community on May 9th, 2008 in conjunction with National Charter School Week (May 5-9).
- The performance will be at University Christian Church located at 2720 South University Drive (Fort Worth 76109) at 7:30 pm.
- To have an additional impact on the community, audience members are asked to bring canned goods for admission.
- The canned goods will support the church’s canned food drive for the South Central Alliance of Churches (www.fwscac.org). For more information, visit http://www.texasboyschoir.org/ or call 817.924.1482.
- The school is home to the choirs performing: Texas Boys Choir, the Singing Girls of Texas and the Children’s Choir of Texas.
- Joining the performance will be alumni, Kendell Pinkney (’05 graduate) who is finishing his junior year at Oberlin Conservatory studying Jewish literature and Rocio Dressler (’06 graduate), she is finishing her sophomore year as a vocal performance major at Oklahoma City University.
- The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 2001 as a public charter school with an emphasis on the arts in education. While based at the school, the Texas Boys Choir and the Singing Girls of Texas can be booked for a variety of performances.
- The School has recieved several recognitions:
- Named National Charter School of the Year by the Center for Education Reform
- Received a “Recognized” rating by the Texas Education Agency
- Listed as the “top-rated” school in Fort Worth by GreatSchool.net
- Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Ballyhoo Brings Historic Hullabaloo
The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts won the state level University Interscholastic League's (UIL) One Act Play Contest making history as the fist public charter school to advance and win the state title.
